AMERICAN SUNRISE COMMUNITIES - SUCCESS STORIES

Josh Casto - an American Sunrise Communities Success Story

Josh Casto - An American Sunrise Communities Success Story

Joshua Casto was the first person from our February 10, 2007 HomeStart Conference in Denver, Colorado to purchase an affordable unit at Stapleton. He purchased a two bedroom condominium at the Syracuse Village Condominiums.

Janeen Cameron interviewed Josh on March 30, 2007.

Q:  Why did you decide to purchase at Stapleton?

A:  I am originally from a small town and I love the feel of Stapleton—a small community in a big city. I feel safe and secure and that was very important to me. I enjoy shopping and dining at the local retailers and restaurants at the town centers as well as The Shops at Northfield. And, I love hanging out in the parks and by the pool. I work down the street at a university and the commute is next to nothing. Stapleton has it all!

Q:  What did you think about American Sunrise Communities' Conference and Workshops?

A:  I found them to be very educational. I felt as though I was taught the "Secrets to Homebuying." There were topics discussed and examples given that really helped me to understand how to protect myself during the homebuying process. There was much I didn't know and the HomeStart Workshops gave me the education and tools I needed to make the right decision. I don’t know if I would have purchased a home so quickly if I hadn't attended the HomeStart Conference and Workshops. They gave me the knowledgeable and confidence I needed to purchase my first home. I was ready to buy a home and stop renting after I attended the HomeStart Conference and Workshops.

Q:  I understand that you worked with our community lending partner, Summit Home Mortgage. How was that experience?

A:  Evan Jansen of Summit Home Mortgage made my feel very comfortable. He explained everything in detail and was never pushy. He was very knowledgeable and that made me feel secure.

Q:  You're now part of a growing a community. What are you thoughts on community involvement?

A:  I definitely plan to get involved with the Homeowner’s Association and really participate in the community. I know that there are a lot of activities for the Stapleton residents and I am looking forward to participating in them and really getting to know my neighbors and the community better.

Janeen Cameron interviewed Michelle on September 6, 2007.

Q:  Why did you decide to purchase at Stapleton?

A:  I liked the location, community and price. I attended the HomeStart Conference and was very impressed with the information provided. I enjoyed hearing about Stapleton, the parks and especially, the schools, since I have a school-aged son. He's starting at Primrose this fall.

Q:  What did you think about American Sunrise Communities' Conference and Workshops?

A:  Great! I didn't know much or really anything about home buying. Every aspect of home buying was addressed—credit, non-house buying aspects, financing, etc. They were very informative.

Q:  Do you think you would have been able to make such a large financial decision had you not attended ASC's HSC and Workshops?

A:  No. I would have been too nervous since I wasn't educated about the home buying process. I thought I would have to have my parents co-sign the loan papers, but after attending your HomeStart Conference and going through the program, I realized that I could afford the condo on my home. That was a very liberating moment for me.

Q:  I understand that you worked with our community lending partner, Summit Home Mortgage. How was that experience?

A:  Great. Evan kept in contact with me the whole time. When I sell my condo and move into a market rate home, I would definitely work with Evan again. He is very knowledgeable and was always available to answer my questions. He gave me references and referrals on insurance and other items as well.

Q:  You're now part of a growing a community. What are you thoughts on community involvement?

A:  I really want to, but unfortunately I just don't have the time right now. Being part of a community that has an HOA is important and valuable to me. I do hope to get involved as time permits.

Q:  Are you happy you made the decision to purchase at Stapleton?

A:  Yes. I am thrilled that my son can grow up in this environment and go to school with his friends. We are very happy to be living in such a dynamic community.

Q:  What's the best part of living at Stapleton?

A:  Value and by value I mean having my son near, a community that is active, having stores nearby, and an easy commute to work.

Q:  Would you recommend ASC HSC to your friends and family? If so, why?

A:  Definitely! I have a couple of cousins in mind who I think should attend. It's really important to become educated about home buying so that you don't become a statistic. I know I won’t become a statistic because American Sunrise Communities gave me the power, tools and resources I needed to make an educated decision about my purchase.
